Great company!! Very cordial and professional. Project was quoted out, dates were given and everything was followed up with. Any modifications that we had made, they were more than happy to accommodate all of our needs and left everything clean once they were done. Best of all, they had the lowest price of all of our quotes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Our Shade Structures

Have questions about any of our great shade products? Here are some of the most common questions we get from our clients about our shade products and the typical answers.

Do Shade Sails Keep Rain Out?

Shade sail materials are available in two main types: waterproof fabrics that keep out light-to-moderate rain and breathable fabrics that help keep the air underneath the shade cooler.

How Do You Shade a Playground?

Depending on the playground size, you can add a shade to cover the whole area, smaller zones of related equipment, or individual pieces such as swings, slides, and climbers. When designing your playground cover, we can work with you to find the most effective and affordable combination.

What Are Playground Shades Made Of?

Most playground shade covers are made with a waterproof or breathable fabric roof, supported by metal posts for sturdiness. However, in some circumstances, a solid metal canopy can provide a greater level of protection, although at a higher cost.

How Do Shade Covers Over Playgrounds Help?

In a climate like South Florida’s, playground shade covers are essential for four important reasons:

  • They help protect children’s skin against harmful UV rays and sunburn.
  • They lower temperatures to keep children safer in longer play sessions without overheating.
  • They keep playground equipment cooler to avoid the risk of burning.
  • They protect your play equipment against fading and cracking in strong direct sunlight, extending its useful life.
Whether you’re a parent wanting to protect your children’s health or a business owner wanting to provide a safe environment for your younger customers, playground shade covers are the ideal solution.

Do Shade Covers Keep a Playground Cool?

Shade covers are great for cooling down playgrounds during the summer months. There are various options that will provide varying levels of protection from the sun so that you can balance the perfect amount of shade and sun for your space.

What Are The Most Common Types of Canopies?

Typically canopies can be put into one of 3 categories – patio canopies, car canopies, or commercial canopies. But within these categories, you can also find variations, including portable tent canopies, fixed overhead canopies, retractable canopies, and more. Because canopies can be built with a combination of metal and fabrics, they are one of the most easily customizable shade solutions we offer.

What’s The Difference Between A Canopy And A Gazebo?

While canopies and gazebos both offer shade and shelter in your yard, that’s where their similarities stop. A gazebo is a self-contained structure complete with posts, a roof, often one or more sides, and usually a deck or other type of flooring. Gazebos are typically built to provide a shaded outdoor relaxation space similar to a deck or patio. By contrast, a canopy is an overhead cover that’s usually attached to the wall of a building or supported by an open framework of posts rather than having a building-like structure. While canopies can provide cover to a deck or patio, they are typically used to cover existing spaces, not create new ones.

Are Canopies Rainproof?

Canopies are available in a variety of materials, and depending on your choice, they can be made entirely rainproof. Old-fashioned canvas canopies offer little protection from rain and can soak up moisture with a risk of mold or staining. However, more modern options are made from canvas coated with acrylic or vinyl for total waterproofing. Canopies made from fiberglass, metal, or another solid material are entirely weatherproof, providing full shelter in sunny and rainy weather.

Commercial Shade Structures

Chances are that no matter what type of business or commercial property you operate, it could benefit from a modern commercial shade structure. Whether you own a restaurant, outdoor recreation area, or even a sports arena, commercial shade structures instantly increase your business footprint, improving your overall profitability.

Our most popular shade structures for commercial properties include commercial awnings, canopies, patio roofs, and commercial shade sails. Our commercial shade products are designed and fabricated specifically for your project, ensuring you receive the highest-quality final product.

Residential Shade Structures

Residential shade structures provide a variety of benefits to homeowners. From protection from the elements to increased comfort and privacy, investing in a residential shade structure is an excellent way to enhance your home’s outdoor living space.

When it comes to our residential shade solutions, some of our most popular options are awnings, canopies, pergolas, cabanas, shade sails, and a wide variety of patio covers and deck shade solutions. Almost all of our residential shade structures can be built to be retractable with either manual or motorized options.

Selecting The Right Shade Structure

Shade structures come in many different styles and sizes, so there’s sure to be one that fits your space perfectly. Whether you need something small like an awning or something larger like a cabana or patio roof – our team can design, build, and install the perfect shade solution for you.

Size & Materials Selection

When choosing a shade structure for your playground, it’s important to consider both size and material. The right size will depend on how much coverage you need; if you have a large area that needs protection from the sun, you may want to opt for multiple smaller structures instead of one large one.

As far as materials go, there are several options available, including canvas, vinyl, metal frames with fabric covers, and even permanent aluminum patio roofs, pergolas, or cabanas. Our shade experts work with you to determine your requirements and any special conditions that may impact your shade product and then design a solution using the materials that best suit your needs.

Manufacturer Warranties

At Valrose, we understand that when you invest in a shade structure for your home or business, you want to be sure it will last. This is why all of the materials we use are protected by a five-year to ten-year manufacturer warranty (depending on the material and manufacturer).

The limited manufacturer’s warranty is effective from the installation date and protects against failure from significant fading, deterioration, breakdown, mildew, outdoor heat and cold, or discoloration. This means that if any of these issues arise within the warranty period due to manufacturing defects or faulty materials, Valrose will replace the material at no cost to you.

While our warranties give you peace of mind when investing in a shade product, we pride ourselves on how few of our customers ever need to use it. Because we use the highest-quality materials, our shade structures are known to last for decades.

Our Manufacturing & Installation Process

All of our residential and commercial shade structures are designed and fabricated specifically for your property. We handle the entire process in-house, from design to installation, ensuring every product we complete meets our high standards for quality and workmanship.

The first step of our process is to meet with you to discuss your property, your project goals, specific requirements, and anything else that may be relevant to your shade structure. We also come to your property to inspect the installation location and determine whether any additional work will be required to prepare the location.

Once we’ve completed our assessment, we then begin selecting your materials and designing the shade structure. We do all of our initial designs in CAD so that you can see a 3d rendering of the structure before we begin fabrication. If your project requires permits, we also produce engineered drawings and begin the permitting process with your city.

As soon as we receive your approval of the designs, our team will start fabricating your shade structure. No matter what shade structure we produce, our team handles everything step of the process, from cutting and sewing to welding and quality control.

After we finish fabricating all of the parts and components for your shade structure, our team begins preparing for installation. Our experts start by preparing the installation space, for example, pouring a concrete pad or identifying the best strategy for mounting to a structure.

Once the location is prepared, our team then assembles and installs your shade product. Depending on the size and complexity of the project, this can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days to complete.

Once the installation is complete, we then run through inspections with you and the city or county inspectors to ensure the project was completed to code. As customer satisfaction is our number one concern, we don’t consider a project complete until we’ve passed both inspections.
